1642 - Blaise Pascal (France) constructs the first mechanical Calculator.

1835 - Samuel Morse invents Morse code.

1876 - Alexander Graham Bell invents the telephone.

1896 - Herman Hollerith founds a company that would later become IBM.

1927
- London and New York get the first transatlantic phone link

1937 - Alan Turing develops the concept of a theoretical computing machine.

1949-50
- Printed electronic circuits are developed.

1950
- Big computer built.

1953 - IMDB begin to build large computers

1954 - Fortran programming language invented

1960 - first email programme created called mailbox

1964 - IBM first word processor

1965 - first minicomputer

1971 - Microprocessor built

1972 - pocket calculator, email between two machines all invented

1975 - first portable computer built

1984 -
Apple introduces the Macintosh with mouse and window interface.

1984 - The CD-ROM is introduced as data-storage device.

1986 - Internet begins to form shape

early 1900's - Wired networks number over 7,500 worldwide, reaching people in more than 75 countries

1995 - There are 30 to 40 million Internet users in the world (estimated).
