vassup.....

this week we gotta watch some chick flicks and eat some ice cream. Nah jokes but seriously we must rummage through the dvds we have, find a favourite and analyse a movie and the different shots and techniques used. I have decided to pick the ever so brilliant Kill Bill Part 1, its such a perfect film.

The close up (Who):
When the bride speaks to bill outside the chapple, a close up is used to show the character deliver their dialogue. the focuse is on her and only her which entices the audience.

The mid shot (What):
A mid shot is used when the bride is gazing at all the differnt types of hattori hanzo
swords. it shows that she is interested in all of them and as the action of her moving around and reaching out to them is preformed.

The long shot (Where):
This shot is shown as the bride rides her bike through the busy streets of tokyo japan. this indicates and higlights where this certain chapter takes place in the story.

The close up (When):
The close up is used at the begining of the film when the bride is shot down at her wedding and shows her spluttering over her words covered in blood. this is used to shock the audience and to hide "Bill"s identity

The big close (Why):
The big close up is shown quite oftern throughout the film as when the bride recognizes a person or event it zooms into her eyes and then the object or person. Haunting music then helps add effect.

The medium close up (How):
the medium close up is shown when O-Ren-Ishi walks down a hallway with her gang to slow music. the effect is used to show that very soon an epic battle will take place. this is witnessed in the trailer below for more explaination.

this is the trailer below...its good shit. i love this movie and the second one is even better. quentin tarantino is a god
